Tupac Projected A ‘One Nation”, Officially Set For Release

After 13 years of speculation and legal wrangling, the late Tupac Shakur’s dream of musically uniting the East and West Coasts has become a reality with the release of his ambitious One Nation album. The opus was originally conceived by Tupac in 1996, after he witnessed the media and fan fallout of his personal feud with former friend The Notorious B.I.G.

Feeling that the issue had caused unnecessary tension between entire coasts, Tupac reached out to respected Brooklyn collective Boot Camp Clik to release a joint project dispelling any media notion of a Hip-Hop civil war.

From Shakur’s California residence, the parties worked diligently on completing a full album in time for release the following year.

Because of Tupac’s unsolved September 1996 murder, tracks from the project were indefinitely shelved and remained in limbo for the next 13 years.

Now, label A.E.G. has acquired the rights for the 18-track LP, and will release One Nation as a digital-only album.

Guests assisting Tupac and Boot Camp on the project include Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, Tha Outlawz, Big Daddy Kane, Greg Nice, and the Notorious B.I.G.

One Nation will be released on Friday March 20 through all major digital distributors such as iTunes and Amazon.

Tupac’s last posthumous album was 2006’s Pac’s Life.

This year, Shakur would have celebrated his 38th birthday.

Joe Budden and Tahiri TV Deal, Rumors Refuted

Joe Budden and girlfriend Tahiri are hoping to enter the world of television, after connecting with several people interested in bringing their lives to the tube. “We had six meetings this week with TV producers and we had a few other meetings with a couple people that have some big plans for the both of us – and we had to cancel them all,” Budden said.
The rapper said that Tahiri is taking a brief break from the entertainment game and that the success they have had together isn’t the primary focus of her life.
Budden admitted she’s working out some personal matters and they’d soon be reunited in their endeavors, both joint and separate.
“Tahiri could care less about the fame,” he said, “She enjoys it, but our relationship comes first.”
Tahiri, a curvy Dominican woman, has been an appealing part of Budden’s newfound success on the viral portions of the internet and talkative gossip blogs.
Another part of the New Jersey rapper’s success has been his hardcore street base, but a show in Boston went awry as he promoted his new album Padded Room.
According to rapper/concert promoter Ed O.G., Joe Budden treated the Boston locals with disrespect when he took to the stage at a show.
“Honestly, if I wasn’t a promoter on that show and I was just a host, Joe Budden would have caught it,” Ed O.G. said. “I think he thought there were a bunch of internet soldiers…I guess he didn’t know there were some real live Boston soldiers there.”
O.G. said that Budden commanded everybody off the stage loudly and challenged dissenters to fight.
Budden refuted the notion that he was rude or disrespectful, but only wanted to offer the fans the best show possible.
“I want to Boston to do a show and there were twenty billion acts all doing their entire catalogue. Fans were restless, but it was time for me to rock, there were a bunch of people on stage,” Budden explained.
Joe said he had a lengthy show and didn’t want to run to time constraints.
“Some people left [the stage], some people didn’t. Somebody said, ‘F**k Joe Budden.’ I invited him to the stage to act that out,” Budden said.. He didn’t. Stage got cleared. Then I run into all this Boston bulls**t like something happened…’oh the goons were gonna get him.’”
He said that alcoholic drinks might have impaired ED O.G. from seeing the occurrences with clarity, but the Boston rapper disagreed.
“We already angry enough and you can’t add fuel to the fire,” Ed OG said. “We not having it. Period.”

Super producer Timbaland has joined forces with Rockstar Games to release a PSP version of the mixer game Beaterator. Rockstar initially introduced the Beaterator via a website in 2005 but the company revealed in a press release today (March 11) that they are bringing the game exclusively to PSP.
The PSP version of Beaterator will feature a music mixer and a collection of original music and rhythm games handled by Timbaland.
Beaterator is slated to hit stores this summer.
"I've always been a huge fan of Rockstar and love playing their games," said Timbaland. "I'm thrilled to be partnering with them and making music for Beaterator. I cannot wait to get this in the hands of our fans!"

Static Major Death Allegedly From Medical Negligence, Lawsuit Filed

Static Major's abrupt death last year was caused by complications associated with his treatment at a hospital in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. Static, who co-wrote and produced Lil Wayne's hit single "Lollipop” checked into the Baptist Hospital East on February 25th 2008 complaining of flu-like symptoms and shortness of breath and ended up dead hours later. The cause of Static’s death was unknown when news of his passing surfaced but according to a recent report by The Leo Weekly, Static’s autopsy reveals that his death was connected to the treatment he received at the hospital.Static (born Stephen Garrett) was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis, a rare autoimmune disease, after number of tests at the hospital on the day of his death. Muscle weakness and fatigue are among the diseases’ symptoms.Doctors recommended that Static should undergo plasmapheresis, a treatment that removes toxins from the blood using a catheter. To receive the treatment, Static had to stay in the hospital to be monitored overnight prior to surgery the following morning.Dr. Dean J. Wickel would conduct the plasmapheresis. After the procedure, Static would complain to nurse Denise Richards about having pain in his internal organs.Wickel would instruct Richards to remove the catheter from Static who would then pass out after it was pulled out. Static didn’t regain consciousness after the catheter’s removal and died.Static’s family has filed a medical negligence lawsuit against Baptist Hospital and Wikel.Nurse Richards testified in a deposition last month that Wickel told her to remove the catheter because it was in the wrong place. An incorrect insertion of the catheter can lead to excessive bleeding or lung puncture. Static’s autopsy report says he died due to respiratory arrest after the removal of the catheter.Larry Franklin, the lawyer representing Static’s family, has asked the judge in the case to order Baptist East to reveal the identity of Static's roommate at the hospital.Franklin believes that the roommate would have heard the conversations between Static and the hospital staff and would have also witnessed the last moments before the singer/producer’s demise. The hospital’s legal team has refused to reveal the roommate’s identity citing a privacy law that protects a patient’s identity. The law is called the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).They also argue that revealing the patient’s identity could end up in inappropriate disclosure of the patient’s personal health information."If this patient becomes a witness to this suit, he will be subjected to scrutiny and potential embarrassment," the hospital’s legal team argued.Static’s family wants a jury judgment for compensatory and punitive damages, along with costs associated with pain and suffering.Static, who crafted hits for Aaliyah, Jay-Z, Nas and Ginuwine, was 33-years-old when he died. He is survived by a wife and four children.

Siegel Birthday Party Shootout

What was supposed to be a celebration of Beanie Sigel’s 35th birthday turned into a near deadly shooting that left one man critically injured. On Saturday (March 7), Sigel (Dwight Grant) held his party in Penn’s Landing at Club Solo. The event drew nearly 600 partygoers, and according to Philadelphia authorities Sigel’s mother handled admission duties at the club’s entrance.Because of the Philly emcee’s previous criminal record, officials from the Department of Licenses/Inspections and the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement conducted a venue safety search at 10PM.The shooting occurred later that evening at 1:35AM, when 24 year old Tyheem Baker of Camden, New Jersey was shot in the chest after coming out of Club Solo’s bathroom stall. The shooting reportedly followed an argument the victim had with two unidentified men. Baker is currently listed in stable condition.According to Sigel attorney Fortunato Perri Jr, his client was performing on stage at the time of the crime, and has no knowledge of the shooting or the perpetrators. At press time, the venue is being investigated for its adherence to proper weapon searches and carding of patrons.Last March, Sigel was sentenced to three months in prison for a third probation violation. The conviction was handed down following Sigel’s positive testing for illegal drugs.Per an agreement with the courts, Sigel underwent drug treatment in order to maintain a 12-month supervised release. At press time, Beanie Sigel could not be reached for comment.

Nike RT1 (red & black colorway)

In the beginning of 2009, a Nike high-top sneaker surfaced on the web in a style that didn’t quite fit into the vein of classic Nike high-tops such as Air Flights or Nike Dunks. By the middle of January, it was confirmed that this extremely fresh kick was to be called the Nike RT1 and would release sometime during the course of 2009. Just the other day, we showed you a photo shoot in which Jim Jones was showing off these dope kicks, but now we finally have detailed images that give us a clear idea of the first colorway of Nike’s newest lifestyle sneaker.

The RT1 draws influences from Nike’s classic Air Trainer 1 (RT1 = Revolution Trainer 1), but the RT1 stands out from Nike’s lineage with a fresh style of it’s own. For the black/red of the RT1, a white sole starts things off being accented by a 3/4’s red out-sole. On the upper you will find an all black scheme, but with an abundant amount of differently textured black, leather. The top of the toe-box, tongue and part of the mid-panel are all perforated and surrounded by smooth, glossy black leather. An expected and welcomed “Nike Air” is embroidered onto the heel and surrounded by a grey/black patch of leather that features an asymmetrical, non-uniform honeycomb design (almost reminiscent of a magnified safari print). Inside the sneaker you will find a fine, red fabric that is adorned with black paisley printings.

Along with the upcoming Air Yeezy high-top sneaker, all sneaker heads will have something to look forward to this Spring with the addition of the RT1. As of now, the black/red Nike RT1 is scheduled to release this April. Be sure to stay tuned to Sneaker News for more information as the release date becomes closer and check out all the pictures below.
